I’m an editor, specializing in nonfiction writing.

I’m also a scholar—a professor of English literature and writing for more than 20 years. I turned to freelance editing out of a desire to focus on one of the things I most enjoy about being a teacher—helping writers express their ideas more clearly, efficiently, and beautifully.
Anyone can memorize a style manual. As a long-time teacher of both literature and nonfiction writing, I have a natural sense of not only what works in the English language, but also of why and how. Helping you find just the right words to connect with your audience is not only my job—it’s my passion!
I am also proud to be a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association.
